I’d like to describe myself as a keen amateur photographer – but maybe not that keen. I don’t go out looking for spectacular sunrises, or views over mountains. Instead I love to photograph what is nearby and what amuses me. Of course, that includes plants, gardens, apples, apple trees and orchards. Unless credited otherwise, all the photos used on this website are my own.

All my post-processing is done using Affinity Photo which is incredibly flexible and much cheaper than other well-known software.

This was taken on my phone, on 8th February 2021. A marigold that has come up from a seed scattered on the bed last summer. In flower in winter, and now full of snow. The leaf is obviously keeping some little insect fed.
